Some things about being a parent that I didn’t expect:
- The immediate ferocity of motherhood.
- How little I cook.
- How much fun playgrounds can be.
- How much Baguette loves me.

Ditto! I am also surprised by how much better I understand my own parents now that I am a parent. My teenage self would never believe it.
I probably should have added how much more tolerant I am of other people’s parenting decisions, because now I really know how hard this is, even when it’s easy.
